Time flies

Welcome back all STUpendous BLOG readers! I have been away for a LONG time. I went on vacation from camp, technology and most of the people in my life. I really enjoyed it. Spent two glorious weeks with my two little ones. We hiked, took boats, swam, played games, did crafts, ate as a family, saw a movie or two, slept in and did some fun back-to-school shopping.

While I was away I felt like great, enjoyed every day. Although it was two weeks it seemed like two days! Every day was full of fun, laughter and discovery. Great moments that will be stored up in my children’s heads forever. I only wish it could have been longer. I didn’t really miss the internet or the phones. I most certainly didn’t miss the stress of running the business end of things back at my company.

Here’s the thing. Have you ever done something so wonderful, so fun, so interesting that it seemed like it was over before it even started? Sometimes when you are on a trip 24 hours can seem like 24 minutes. Although, if you are sitting around do nothing, 24 hours can seem like 24 days. What if you loved everything you did? Always tried to make or find joy in every part of your life.

Wouldn’t that be fun? You would always want more! Get up earlier…. stay up a little later! Life can be like that! Like a mini vacation every day. Have fun in your job, celebrate the times you have with your friends and family, escape to nature and soak in the world around you.

I am sitting in a cafe in Mount Tremblant, Quebec right now. Just about to do a speach. I am loving it. The drive up. The incredible breakfast I just ate and the company I am with. I will be back in my bed tonight… I will have had a fantastic day. Tomorrow I will as well! Why? Simple, I am going on another mini vacation!

Here is today’s question! Read it, write it, answer it and share your thoughts here on the STU-pendous Blog. Campers and STAFF… get out those journals!!

What can you do today to create a “mini-vacation” now? How can you make your life more full and exciting daily?

Today’s pic is from my vacation. Emily, Matthew, my Mom and I all shared a great 10 km hike on Flowerpot Island… beautiful!
