World Class
Just spent a week at a beautiful little Inn called The Red Pump. Right off the top, if you have the time and some extra money please make an effort to enjoy this beautiful little place in Bayfield, Ontario on Lake Huron. I kind of wound up there by accident. I was supposed to go to Sauble Beach for a week, but that fell through.
By chance I remembered stopping in this little town last year on the way to Sauble and really loving it. In fact I wrote a blog about it last summer. Anyway, through the fact that my first choice in Bayfield was sold out, I found The Red Pump.
From the moment I arrived and was greeted by one of the owners, Gary, I knew I was in the right place. Gary and his incredible staff spent the next five days making sure I was happy. Creating special vegetarian meals for me, delivering fruit plates to my room, even allowing me to sit in the breautiful garden and enjoy my specially made breakfast.
On my last evening I got a 24 hour flu and they made sure that I was ok and brought me bread to toast. The room was huge, big shower, heated floors, private garden and made me feel like a king.
Here’s the thing. It cost me less, food and all then is will to rent this cottage for a week with my kids. It was a fantastic, world class experience, my colleague Robin Sharma speaks at length about the concept of world class service and expectations. He also talks a lot about a world class life. That’s the point of the blog today. What are you doing every day? Do you get caught up in Gossip? Do you get lost in anger and regret? What about getting those things that you want to get done, done? A world class life is about working 24 hours a day to be a person that everyone can be proud of… even if you didn’t know they were watching.
Word class isn’t measured in dollars and cents, it’s measured in smiles, warmth a satisfaction. I watched Sicko last night, shocking. The American Health Care (if you want to use the word care) System is a mess. Micheal Moore travelled to England to talk to a doctor. He asked him about treating patients based on their ability to pay. He said he didn’t think about that. He’s a doctor, his job is to care for people not to profit from them. That’s world class. Gary at the Red Pump, when the week was over left off all my breakfasts, snacks, a couple of glasses of wine. He made sure to spend time with me. Stephen the chef made each dinner a special event, trying to top the last. No extra cost…
I wrote a thank you note to Gary, Stephen and Sharon (house keeping, she gave me a tour of all the other rooms, incredible) to say thanks for a world class experience.
So here is today’s question… Read it, write it and answer it here on the STUpendous BLOG. Oh by the way… any campers and STAFF please be world class and continue to answer this BLOG and visit the Sandbox. World Class is a constant thing.
What are you doing today to truly take your life to a world class? What can you do today to make change to be better?
Today’s Picture’s come from my visit to Bayfield and the Red Pump. Simply World Class…
